Start gathering inspiration.
Let the fun begin! Start collecting inspiration of all the bridal looks you love. Whether it’s photos found on Instagram
, in magazines or elsewhere, start thinking about what you might like to wear down the aisle (or rehearsal dinner, ceremony or reception).
Establish a budget.
While you’re looking for inspiration, think about a price point you’d like to stick to. This will help you stay on track and find designers and styles that work well within your budget. Remember, a wedding dress budget also includes a veil, any jewelry or headpieces you might like to wear, alterations and shoes. Once you have a budget in mind, head to our dress gallery
and filter by price point to see the countless options we have to offer.
Think about a theme.
It’s much easier to narrow down dress silhouettes, fabrics and details once you have an idea of when and where your wedding will be. Will you be getting married on the sand in August? A rustic barn in the fall? Maybe a lavish ballroom on New Years Eve? Picking a date and a venue will help you decide on an overall theme for your special day—and help you decide between a boho lace a-line or a strapless satin ballgown.
Try a few silhouettes on.
Before you shop, consider doing a trial run first by trying on different silhouettes. Doing this will help you figure out what looks best on your body shape
and what makes you feel the most confident! Shop around to get a feel of what you like and dislike, or RSVP to our Sample Sale
. Who knows, maybe you’ll find your dream wedding dress at a fraction of the price!
Make an appointment sooner rather than later.
Even if you’re not 100% positive on a specific style, designer or silhouette, make sure to make an appointment to try wedding dresses on at least 9-12 months before your wedding date. Wondering why? Learn more about why we always suggest shopping 9-12 months before your wedding, here.
